Position Description

Prioritising and planning jobs, coordinating daily operations, overseeing inventory control, and promoting occupational health and safety (OH&S) regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Job Planning and Coordination

• Collaborate with the head mechanic and the management team to plan, coordinate, and monitor jobs.
• Maintain service schedules and update equipment working hours and kilometres.

Workshop Staff Supervision

• Supervise Mechanics and Fabricators, including scheduling, task assignments, and performance monitoring.
• Foster a positive and collaborative working environment.

Inventory Control

• Oversee inventory control and maintain accurate records.
• Regularly update inventory levels and reorder needs.
• Efficiently manage purchase orders, invoices, and related documentation.
• Control inventory costs to optimise efficiency and minimise waste.
• Conduct weekly fuel checks and source the latest fuel prices from various suppliers.

Communication and Safety

• Manage workshop safety following OH&S regulations.
• Implement and promote safety protocols and practices.

General

• Carry out other duties as assigned.

We are looking for a Machinery Operator who is keen on upskilling to Senior Machinery Operator. This is a diverse position involving excavating, loading, screening, and dump truck driving.

Responsibilities

• Operate our hydraulic excavator and excavate gypsum from the pit.
• Cart gypsum from the ground to our high-energy screener.
• Feed and operate the crusher to crush and grind gypsum.
• Carry out regular maintenance on machines and vehicles.
• Conduct start-up and clean-down of equipment.
• Follow instructions and independently carry out assigned work.
• Be on time and carry out other duties as required.
• Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Complete time sheets on time and in full.
• Understand and follow OH&S regulations.

Experience and Qualification

• Driver's licence and own a vehicle (needed to drive to the pit)

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Kerang, Victoria. This diverse and exciting position involves the repair, maintenance, and service of MC trucks and heavy earth-moving vehicles. The ideal candidate will be experienced, driven, and possess strong mechanical knowledge of heavy vehicles.

How you contribute to our value chain:

• Ensure the ongoing maintenance of our MC trucks, trailers, and heavy earthmoving vehicles.
• Identify machine issues, detect defects, and perform necessary repairs.
• Conduct thorough machine inspections.
• Carry out on-site service for our machinery at both the Gypsum Pit and the Salt Lake.
• Follow a safe working environment within the workshop.
• Complete job reports using our mechanic app.
• Adhere to instructions and execute assigned tasks independently.
• Maintain punctuality and fulfil additional responsibilities as needed.
• Comprehend and comply with OH&S regulations.

What you will bring:

• Recognised trade qualification (Heavy Vehicle or Diesel Mechanic)
